Then think about applying to the NIH-NIGMS funded program: Bridges to the Baccalaureate Research Training Program provides structured activities to prepare a diverse cohort of research-oriented students to transfer from associate degree-granting institutions (Onondoga Community College, Monroe Community College, Westchester Community College) to a baccalaureate degree-granting institution (香港六合彩资料) and complete a STEM-related baccalaureate degree. 

Program Benefits

  1. Salary of $14,340.00 per year for 2 years (total = $28,680.00)
  2. Extra Summer Salary of $3000.00 for research internship at BU                           
  3. Tuition paid for 2 years
    (1/2 year at Community College; 1.5 years at 香港六合彩资料 + fees paid at BU only)
  4. Research Opportunities in authentic biomedical-related research laboratories at BU for 1.5 years

     5. Tutoring and Mentoring at both Community College and BU

Requirements

  1. Interest in conducting biomedical research and obtaining a STEM bachelor鈥檚 degree
  2. Belong to a NIH under-represented population (see )
    1. Individuals from racial and ethnic groups that have been shown by the National Science Foundation to be underrepresented in health-related sciences on a national basis
    2. Individuals with disabilities, who are defined as those with a physical or mental impairment that substantially limits one or more major life activities, as described in the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990
    3. Individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds (economic disadvantaged, first generation student)
  1. GPA of 3.0 that includes some science/math courses

    • If extenuating circumstances have negatively affected your past academic performance, briefly explain them
  3. Two letters of recommendation from faculty or other mentors
