External Funding

In addition to University-sponsored funds, graduate students should explore outside funding resources with the assistance of University support services and academic departments.

The Graduate Community of Scholars (GCOS) hosts workshops geared toward the professional development of graduate students, including a grant-writing workshop to help students learn how to plan and write successful grant or fellowship proposals.

The Office of External Scholarships, Fellowships and Awards offers advice and assistance to graduate students interested in securing external funding, through organizations like the Fulbright Program, Ford Foundation, National Science Foundation, and National Institute of Health.
