Practice and Clinical Experiences

Online RN-BS students will participate in planned practice and clinical experiences intended to support students in transitioning to baccalaureate nursing practice upon graduation, particularly in the areas of health assessment, community health, evidence-based practice and leadership competencies.

These planned experiences will be incorporated through the curriculum using a variety of clinical learning activities, including simulation, case studies and participating in projects in the community where a student may live and work.

.

Students will declare their NURS Z484 (final course) clinical site in their first course (NURS Z380) to ensure that an appropriate affiliating agency contract is in place prior to starting.

If an affiliation agreement is not in place with the student鈥檚 preferred agency, the student may request the University pursue a new agreement by emailing Rebecca Christophersen, director of clinical placements, Division of Nursing, at christop@binghamton.edu. There is no guarantee a new affiliation agreement will be made, and an alternate site may be required.
