Ressa, a Filipino-American journalist, received a Nobel Peace Prize in 2021 for her unabating work defending human rights, freedom of the press, and democracy. The prize was developed in honor of Rubaii鈥檚 legacy as an accomplished scholar, beloved teacher, and founder of I-GMAP after she died in 2022.
