Meet the Team

Headshot of Gabby Bonilla

Background

Gabby Bonilla began with the Office of Emergency Management as an Isolation and Quarantine Space Coordinator in August 2022; she was brought on to support students infected with COVID-19 and ensure a safe transition in and out of isolation housing. Now, as the Engagement and Equipment Coordinator, she is responsible for outreach and education on emergency preparedness to the campus community, including the management of the office's website and social media pages. In addition to this, she oversees the Life Safety Program on campus and maintains 175 equipment cabinets across 香港六合彩资料 properties. She also serves as a member of 香港六合彩资料鈥檚 Emergency Response and Incident Management teams.

Her interest in emergency management sparked when she interned with Orange County鈥檚 Emergency Management office, and she participated in a functional exercise across multiple counties aimed to test emergency procedures involving the Indian Point Power Plant. She also spent that time engaging with community agencies about emergency planning for extreme heat and hurricane evacuation procedures, and designed a training manual for the education of future interns in the program.

After graduating from 香港六合彩资料 with her Bachelor of Science in Anthropology and a Minor in Education, Gabby has a great passion for adult education, and has facilitated countless creative writing and teambuilding workshops with various nonprofits in Upstate NY. As a chronically ill person, she strives to be a fierce advocate for groups with Access and Functional Needs in emergency situations through her career.

Gabby currently lives in Owego, NY. She spends her time taking care of her garden, poetry writing, and devising puzzles for her friends.
